When one takes even a cursory peek into the personal lives of our most iconic artists, it is rare that you find a balanced, joyful, satisfied pysche. What drives that art is the intense sublimation necessary to survive the ever-present cacophony of varied mental dysfunction.

Some defend this onslaught by doing very unconstructive things at times, but they can also channel their angst out onto a world that simply laps it up and hails it as genius (which it is, in it's way) - often the artists themselves don't "get" what is so great about their work.

ok...but on the other hand.....he was a cash cow who made a few other people very rich indeed....so he was therefore 'indulged' up to the hilt.

for the haters that says he deserves it cos he was a cxhild molester...may i remind you he was TOTALLY AQUITTED in a court of law, no accusations was ever proved. Sure the guy was weird as fuck, but there are alot of people out there that woukd do anything for money.

The man never had a childhood and sue inapprooriate for him to have children stay with him, but i dont believe there was ever any molestation, but one FACT you cant take away from him, when it came to music he was a true genius

 

He might have been gifted, but if it wasn't for his father pushing the children into the music business at such a young age, then would he ever have been discovered or had his gift nurtured? I think not, he'd have been like all the other gifted children the world over who are on a much higher plane than average, but are never going to improve.

But the truth is, if he was an ordinary bloke, living next door and he went from his natural dark skin tone to white over the course of his life, he would have been classed as creepy. And that's what he was. Not just the fact that he preferred to spend his time hanging out with kids. Not surprising that he got accused of child molestation but wouldn't you think, if he was mentally unbalanced, like you're suggesting in this post (because he didn't have a childhood) that his advisors would have made damn sure the last thing he could ever have gotten accused of again was the exact same thing.

I can't believe the amount of news coverage this death is receiving. Ok, so he could sing and dance, but please! The rest of the world didn't stop at the same time as his pulse.

So I'm not going to comment on how sad it is, or how I feel for his family or any of those empty words. He's dead, it's what happens.

 

Now that he'd dead, I wonder how long it will be before people start coming out of the woodwork claiming that he molested them.

 

Not to mention all the family members who will be trying to claim his estate and royalties. Which may depend on if he had a will or not.

 

In the 1980's I read a poll that said that about 11% of the American people thought Elvis Presley was still alive. Indeed, the number of people who saw Elvis after his so called "funeral" was larger than the number of people who saw him before. In other words, Elvis had the most spectacular comeback in the history of show business. :satisfied:

I couldn't agree with you more, he chose a lifestyle that would have landed most people in jail but since he could afford to pay off those he abused he escaped prosecution. I am not glad he is dead, but I won't miss him.

 

He has looked like a cadaver for at least ten years.

 

I don't really have an opinion on this matter.

Sad he died, sure, but y'know, It's MJ, past years have been horrid for him and made me feel ashamed to be a fan.

 

Didn't he pay something like $25 million in an out-of-court settlement to make one of those problems go away? Yup, that's surely the hallmark of an innocent man...

And then there was that line that must have made his lawyers cringe: "Inviting a child into your bed is the ultimate act of love." Something like that, anyway.

It's true that he was never proven guilty. Neither was O.J. Simpson.

 

I heard him compared to Mozart yesterday....but I rather doubt that people will still be playing Jacko's music 200 years from now.

 

A fool is someone who believes that someone like jackson contributed anything positive to society other than his music, which I don't care for. His money bought silence from the terrible parents of the child he took advantage of and molested. He admitted sleeping nude with his young friends but said there was nothing wrong with that. The parents who accepted the money should be prosecuted for prostituting a minor.
